1912

Our Origins: “La Pureza” in Tampico

In 1912, we began operations in Tampico. Don Leo Fleishman inaugurated the flavored beverages factory called La Pureza.

1926

First Coca-Cola Bottlers in Mexico

In 1926, we became the first bottlers of Coca-Cola in Mexico. Thus began the Bottling Company in Tampico, thanks to the vision of Don H.H. Fleishman.

1946

Growth and Diversification

H.H. “Jack” Fleishman joined the bottled beverage business together with Don H.H. Fleishman, his father, beginning the process of systematizing business operations.

Under his leadership during the 1960s, our business units in the Automotive, Hospitality, and Plastics industries laid a solid foundation.

1973

Entrepreneurial Spirit at the Service of Tampico

In honor of Don H.H. Fleishman, the Fundación Fleishman is born to give back to Tampico a small part of what it has given us. We reaffirm the commitment of the family and company have upheld by actively supporting education, culture, health, and social development through community programs.

1982

Integrated and strengthened

Grupo Tampico was created to integrate and concentrate all of our businesses into a single company, thus becoming one of the most important corporations in Northeastern Mexico.

A year later, Herman H. “Henry” Fleishman is appointed Chairman of Grupo Tampico. In 1987, he is appointed Chief Executive Officer.

1990

Leadership expanding borders

Under the leadership of Henry and Robert Fleishman, we experienced dramatic growth through solid investments in real estate, new business concepts, and a geographic and operational expansion during the last decade of the twentieth century.

2006

La Pureza

We opened a new La Pureza plant. It was at the time the largest and most modern Coca-Cola facility in Latin America, which allowed for efficient performance of internal processes, generating savings, and achieving the highest quality standards.

2011

FEMSA Merger

We merged our Beverages Division with Coca-Cola FEMSA, the world’s largest bottler. Grupo Tampico begins, with this merger, a new corporate development phase, focusing on consolidating and leading their automotive, plastics, hospitality, and services divisions, as well as expanding into new business sectors.

2012

100 Years: A New Chapter Begins

We celebrated our first one-hundred years of successes. Robert Fleishman is appointed Chief Executive Officer of Grupo Tampico and we experience sustained growth through the creation of a new financial line of business and the acquisition of a plastic injection molding plant in Saltillo, Coahuila. We became the most important automotive group in Northeastern Mexico, integrating brands such as Mazda, Honda, Volkswagen, Seat, and Kia.

2014

Altama City Center Is Born

Reinforcing our commitment to Tampico and the region, GT GLOBAL is committed to development and growth, laying the first stone of Altama City Center in 2014, which we inaugurated in 2016 as a unique commercial development with a diversity of commercial and entertainment options, which becomes a meeting and recreation point for families in the metropolitan area.

2016

Grupo Tampico Evolves into GT GLOBAL

This evolution is not just a change of name or logo. It represents our actions, behaviors, and the way we work, reaffirming that we are a dynamic company capable of taking on new challenges, maintaining our essence, and recognizing the efforts of all the generations that have been part of our organization. Today, our lines of business are GT + investments, GT + logistics, GT + materials, GT + motors and GT + plastics.

2019

Professionalizing for the future

Fundación Fleishman professionalizes its strategy, operation, and goals to focus on four areas of interest: Strengthening Foundations, Education, Health, Arts & Culture, which guide its actions to have new scopes, strengthen efforts and continue promoting the extraordinary.
